In recent years, government start to pay attention to women’s right by passing bills about how to elevate the status of women because of the change of social structure and the trend of feminism. We can also find the same phenomenon in the field of science as more and more woman scientists manifest their capability through their outstanding achievements of research on technology and science.

In developed countries, governments and social organizations all stress the concept of social equality and play the role of supervisor in the procedure of policy adjustment. For those who heed this issue, government and social organizations push “Both Sexes Work Equality Method” through in order to prevent women from sexual discrimination in career environment. Even though there are laws to protect women’s right, the problem of gender differences still prevails over all walks of life in society, which is especially apparent in the field of science. It is not easy for a woman to choose to be a scientist since woman scientists are still a minority group in comparison with male scientists in the field of science.

Gender differences exist in education, career, capacity, and political participation. Hence the main objective of our conference is to find new breakthrough in the formidable status quo of women scientists. We want to invite woman scientists with remarkable accomplishments to not only give speeches but also participate in discussions with young students. In this way, young students can have a deep understanding of how woman scientists make practical use of their talents on science. In addition, through the discussion with woman scientists, ICWS aims to encourage young female students to choose to be a scientist and dedicate their life to the development of science.

Through this conference, we also expect to combine the forces of government, non-profit organizations, and other associated groups to fulfill discussions by stressing the importance of general education for young generations, especially for our future young woman scientists.
